Dassilio

The pine hill of Dassilio is called the "porch" of Patras Gulf for the great views offered. Dasillio is ideal for leisure walks and jogging. Is easy and pleasant to walk thanks to the landscaped alleys that cross it by and the cool shade offered by trees. There is a municipal tourist kiosk in harmony with the environment from which one can admire Patras harbour, Patraikos and the low coasts of Messoligi up to the mountains of Roumeli. The afternoon traffic increases as there are many who go uphill to Dasillio to see Patraikos dyed reddish purple from the unique colours of sunset . The pines were planted in Dassilio in March 1916 by students of primary schools , two secondary schools and the Commercial School under the supervision of the Austrian forester Stengel .
